Quick Questions with Rachael Bryans
What inspired you to pursue a career in physiotherapy?
I played basketball at a competitive level in my teenage years in Victoria, when I injured myself the club physiotherapist always helped get me back on the court fit and strong. Ever since then I always wanted to be a physio, to this day many years later I still love helping people recover from injuries whether they are sport, work or accident related.
What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
I love going camping with my husband Matt and 2 young children Grayson and Indiana. We love the outdoors, particularly in the summer months as we love swimming and water play.
How do you approach a challenging patient case?
I treat every patient like they are a challenging case. Every patient is unique. Taking a thorough history and comprehensive assessment allows me to provide a tailored treatment to each and every patient.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job as a physiotherapist?
People walk into my clinic most of the time struggling with pain. I love it when these people walk out of the clinic pain free, and able to check back into their life. I feel very lucky to have a skillset to be able to help people, it’s a very rewarding job. I wake up every morning and am very happy to come to work – I love doing what I do!
What’s your favourite food?
Cheese board and a glass of wine
